Honoring Veteran Legacies Eternal Salute is dedicated to telling our heroes' stories through cross-curricular lesson plans. Our lesson plans are written by certified teachers from, not just the state of Alabama, but by teachers around the country. Each lesson includes a video interview of a hero, activities, assessments, and ideas for extensions.  

1. Real-world expertise: 

Veterans have unique, hands-on experience with survival and trade skills, and can bring this knowledge to the classroom. By sharing personal stories and lessons learned from their military service, they can help students understand how these skills can be applied in practical settings.

2. Leadership and discipline: 

Military training emphasizes leadership and discipline, which can be valuable skills for students to learn. Veterans can help teach these skills and provide examples of how they have applied them in their own lives and careers.

3. Increased understanding of military history and culture: 

By sharing their personal stories and experiences, veterans can help students gain a deeper understanding of military history and culture. This can help students appreciate the sacrifices made by those who have served and develop a greater understanding of the complexities of military conflict.

Many veterans have firsthand experience with the challenges associated with combat and military service, and can help create a safe and supportive environment for students who may be dealing with similar issues.
