The Eternal Salute Teacher Ambassador Program, in conjunction with Honoring Veteran Legacies, is a program devoted to telling the stories of veterans in our communities. These teachers will be required to utilize Eternal Salute lesson plans in the classroom, write lesson plans to add to the Eternal Salute database, teach/present the Eternal Salute lesson plan database to your colleagues
(at school or in the district).
Any educator, active or retired, can apply to be a Teacher Ambassador. Teachers can be certified in any subject: history/social studies, English, science, math, or any elective subject (ex. health and physical education, foreign language, etc.).
All Eternal Salute lesson plans include a video interview with the veteran(s) featured. Teacher Ambassadors will be given a video to watch. After watching the video, teachers will create a list of lesson plans that can be derived from that interview. Using a template, teachers will create/write their lesson plan for submission. The lesson plan should include all links used and activity handouts. Teachers will be paid a stipend of $50 for all lesson plans submitted.
1. CEU’s will be issued for participation in the program.
2. Accumulating experience in curriculum development.
3. Networking opportunities.
4. Student access to essay competition. Prizes to be announced.
5. Yearly Eternal Salute workshop.
